The VIT University has invited Online Application for Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE-2016) for all those aspiring for career in engineering and willing to take admission in various B.Tech. Programmes at Vellore Campus or Chennai Campus. VIT University will conduct VIT Engineering Entrance Exam VITEEE 2016, the Computer Based Test (CBT) from 6th April to 17th April 2016.The exams will be conducted in 3 sessions on each day. Eligible candidates who wish to apply for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam may submit their Online Application Form through the Official VIT University Website from 27 November, 2015 to 29 February 2016.

VIT University, Vellore was Founded under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution. The institution offers 19 Undergraduate, 34 Post graduate, 2 Integrated and 4 Research Programmes. VIT has been accredited by TCS, Wipro and Cognizant for academic collaboration and placements. Over 1,93,000 appeared for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) in 2014. The University has recently published notification for admission to the VITEEE 2016.

VIT Entrance Exam VITEEE 2016 Notification Details :

VITEEE Exam 2016 Eligibility:

Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2016. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.

Qualifying Examination:

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2016 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2016, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).

Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE 2016 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State.

VIT University Admission Process :

The admission will be purely on the basis of the marks secured in the VITEEE-2016, conducted by VIT University. Candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission. The candidates will be short-listed based on their entrance examination marks and will be called for the counselling.

VITEEE 2016 Exam Pattern :

VITEEE exam is a computer based test (CBT) that is held in centers across the country and abroad. Questions are based on the specified syllabus with options to attempt papers in either Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCB). All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ). All the questions will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only. Each part has 40 questions and English has 5 questions with each question carrying one mark. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same. No negative marks for wrong answers. The Question paper will be in English only.

Application Fee :

Candidates will have to pay Rs.960/- for Online Application Form through Net banking / Debit card / Credit card / And Demand Draft Mode. For Offline OMR Application Form need to pay Rs.990/- cash payment at various post offices as given in the VIT website.

Apply Online for VITEEE 2016 Exam :

The Aspiring applicants satisfying the eligibility criteria in all respect can submit their application form through Online/Offline The Online registration of applications is made available on Official VIT University Website from 27 November, 2015 to 29 February 2016. Candidates can also obtain the application form through post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.990/-drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore, with a covering letter addressed to “Director-UG Admissions”, VIT University, Vellore-632014.

VITEEE 2016 Admit Card :

The e-Admit card will be generated once the candidate has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System. The e-Admit card will be made available for candidates on Candidate should provide the application form number and Online Test Booking password to download the e- Admit card. The copy of the e-Admit card will also be emailed to the candidate.

VITEEE 2016 Result :

The VIT entrance examination results will be available on from 29 April 2016 (Tentative). A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks secured in the VITEEE-2016.

VITEEE 2016 Counselling Procedure :

The counselling for allocation of branches to the short-listed candidates is based on their All India Rank (AIR) in the VITEEE-2016. A candidate may obtain this information on our website or by calling the VIT office, on the day after the declaration of the results of VITEEE-2016. The intimation regarding counselling dates will be displayed in the VIT website. SMS will also be sent to the qualified candidates after declaration of the results. Candidates who have been shortlisted for counselling should also attend the same in person either in Vellore or Chennai campus.
